Volunteer/Coaches Requirements

US Soccer requires all volunteers to complete the following requirements before the start of the volunteer's first season of the soccer year (Fall - Spring). This includes requirements for Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association (MYSA), Safe Sport/US soccer, CDC, and Westborough Youth Soccer Association (WYSA).

All certificates (please save them) from all groups must be uploaded to MYSA's website to get fully credentialed and to be volunteer or coach. Please complete the whole process Steps 1-4. Thank you for your time and supporting our programs.

1. MYSA Requirements

Volunteers must follow the instructions and log in at Massachusetts Youth Soccer Association's website. On the MYSA's website, you complete your CORI, National Background check and upload your completion certificates. 

Returning Volunteers: 
-Log into your account with your login and password from the US Soccer Connect System. Note: There is an option to retrieve a password. 
-Some information may have migrated over to the new system. 
-Upload a clear headshot photo, if one does not show up in your account. 
-Complete incomplete requirements
-Make sure you select the right organization - Westborough Youth Soccer Association (WYSA)

New Volunteers: 
-Must create a new account on MYSA. Use full legal first and last name. No nickname or alternative names. This is important for CORI/Background check. 
-Upload a clear headshot photo with only you in the picture with no hats, sunglasses, etc. 
-Complete listed requirements
-Make sure you select the right organization - Westborough Youth Soccer Association (WYSA)

2. SafeSport/US Soccer Requirements

Volunteers must complete the SafeSport course and obtain an online certificate. Please save the certificate so it may be uploaded to your MYSA account.  

IMPORTANT: Your first name, last name, date of birth, gender, AND email must match the information input in both SafeSport and your Adult Registration to auto approve/verify completed courses.
This course takes 1-2 hours to complete training.

Returning Volunteers:
If you took the SafeSport in 2019, you will need to take the refresher course to get your credential/certificate.

New Volunteers: 
Must complete the SafeSport course and save the certificate to your computer so it can be uploaded into your MYSA account.  When creating your account, please use  the MYSA website login information with legal first and last name. 


3. CDC
 


All volunteers must go to the CDC website to complete the Heads UP concussion course. The CDC made updates to the course and are administrating it on a new platform. The course will take about 20-30 minutes. 

Returning & New Volunteers: 
-Must create an account using the same legal first and last name as the other accounts / websites. 
-Complete the concussion course, then save the Heads UP Concussion certificate and upload it to your MYSA account. 


4. Westborough Youth Soccer Association (WYSA) 

-CORI Verification - Please send the CORI Acknowledgement form with proof of ID to the Risk Manager at [email protected]. This is to make sure your CORI is verified by WYSA and only needs to be done once. 

Coaches
-
Coach's Pledge -  One coach per team must review the pledge and submit signed form to [email protected]. This only needs to be done once a soccer season per team. 

Adult Participation Agreement / Release of Liability - Please review this important information.
